Desireé Allen, the founder and CEO of She’s A Victor, Inc. is a native Bostonian with a heart for giving back that was sparked at an early age. She has an entrepreneurial spirit that has inspired the various projects and programs that she has created and been a part of.
With a heart to empower and serve women, Desireé created an event called Allentine’s Day, under She’s A Victor, INC., that caters to women that have dealt with all forms of abuse. She brings women in from different shelters and showers them with love, kindness, and respect. Allen pampers these women and reminds them of their self-worth and strength through speakers, activities, and helpful community resources that are tailored to their specific needs. In the thirteen years of the event, Allentine’s Day has grown from serving 7 women to nearly 1,000 women and continues to grow exponentially each year.
Feeling connected to the women she serves, Desireé looks for opportunities to get involved past any particular event. In working with the Salvation Army, in Memphis, she was given creative freedom and brought her own spin to their current women’s ministry, Home League, and then implemented a dance fitness and life skills class. Through these programs Desireé taught trust, community, and life beyond their current circumstances that will influence generations to come. This venture allowed Desireé to interact with women on a personal level to build lasting relationships and encourage women on a regular basis.
Desireé’s passion for helping others extends to the communities that she calls home as well as beyond. She has given her time, talents, and treasures to various causes in Boston, Memphis and Chicago to name a few. From working with youth at church to serving meals at different shelters, her giving heart touches people young and old. With an infectious personality that knows no strangers, she motivates you to be a better person.
Apart from being involved in the community, Allen is quite artistic. She does event planning, interior design, writing and crafting, on top of the many other hats that she wears. Desireé, a wife and mother, currently resides in Memphis, Tennessee. She enjoys traveling, dancing, doing karaoke, and having a good time with family and friends.
